These are pictures of Gibb Phenegers most recent engine.

Gibb has been through a few engines in his 1993 Miata. It started life as a 1.6 normally aspirated (NA), then an Autorotor supercharger was added, then upgraded to a larger Autorotor. The ECU was changed to an FM ECU. at this point the engine made 231HP and 210 lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels.

The 1.6 was swapped for a 1.8 and an Aerodyne turbo, the FM ECU was changed to a TEC-II.

After blowing up the turbo, Gibb decided to try NA again. The engine was bored 1mm over size and 10:1 pistons with ceramic and Teflon coating were installed. The head was port and polished by Import Machine Service. Cams are by Boig with adjustable cam pulleys. We kept the TEC-II but added an individual runner intake manifold with throttle bodies and fuel rail from TWM.

Our first test on the dyno was 150 rear wheel HPand 126 lb/ft of torque.
